Here are some of the questions I think about before starting a review:

• Does the book do what it set out to do?

  • How did it handle its themes?

  • Was the mood fitting? etc.

• How developed were the characters? Were they consistent?

• Did the plot make sense and stay consistent?

  • Are there any plot holes or conveniences?

• Was there a diverse cast of characters?

  • How was the representation?

• How was the writing quality?

• How was the reading experience?

There will always be more details in the full review, including if I see what others enjoy about it and it just isn’t for me!
